As the producer of my second-year film, I’m thrilled to share a unique story that dives deep into themes of identity, cultural pride, and the complexities of modern relationships. Our film follows Malaki, an insecure but hopeful young man, on a first date with a captivating woman who turns out to be a vampire. But this isn't your typical vampire—she feeds off the energy and culture of Black individuals, literally and metaphorically draining her victims and transforming them. When a Black vampire hunter steps in, Malaki faces an intense choice: embrace his heritage or alter himself for the sake of a relationship. This project weaves horror, suspense, and social commentary, and I’m incredibly proud to help bring it to life as a reflection on cultural authenticity and self-acceptance.

Now, let's be real: making a great film takes two things— talent and money. Luckily, we've got the talent part covered (8 students with a serious passion for film and more creativity than our professors know what to do with). But as students, we're also BROKE-like, we eat noodles five times a week kind of broke. And that's where YOU come in.
